About the procedure

  • Liver transplant

Part of a related living donor's liver replaces the diseased liver. Requires approval by the Authorisation Committee.

This is a general description. The treating doctor reads your reports and tells you whether this treatment suits you, and what it means in your case.

  • Risks to discuss with your doctor

Every procedure carries risks. Before you decide, the treating doctor explains the risks that apply to you. Ask every question you have; your coordinator can help you put them to the doctor.

How it works

From choosing hospitals to follow-up at home: what happens, who does it and how long it usually takes.

  1. Choose hospitals, or let us suggest

Compare accredited hospitals and add up to 3 to your list. Not sure? Tell us the problem, and we suggest hospitals for you to approve.

    Day 1

  2. Send your reports

Send recent reports and scans on WhatsApp, or the way your coordinator suggests. Your coordinator removes your phone number and email, then sends your case to the hospitals you chose.

    Within 2 working days

  3. Compare written estimates

A doctor at each hospital reviews your reports and sends an opinion and a written estimate. You compare them and choose.

Replies usually within a few days

  4. Travel, treatment and home

We arrange the hospital's visa invitation letter, someone to meet you at the airport, an interpreter and help with a place to stay. Your coordinator stays with you through admission, discharge and follow-up from home.

    Until you recover

Common questions

How long is the stay in India?
Hospital stay ⁦10–21⁩ nights  Total stay in India ⁦35⁩–⁦60⁩ days
Are anti-rejection medicines in the price?

Usually included

  • Medicines during admission

Usually not included

  • Anti-rejection medicines after discharge
Can someone travel with me?
Yes. Your attendant can usually apply for a medical attendant visa linked to yours, and can usually stay in your hospital room. The Government of India sets how many attendants are allowed; your coordinator confirms the current rule.
Do I pay Lazuren anything?
Every estimate is free today. Later the first stays free and the 2nd and 3rd carry a small fee. Where we have an agreement with a hospital, that hospital pays us a facilitation fee. You pay the hospital directly for your treatment, and you may ask the hospital for its direct price.
What happens after I go home?
Your coordinator arranges follow-up calls with your doctor and shares reports and the treatment summary for your local doctor. Prescriptions written in India may not be valid in your country, so your local doctor may need to prescribe your medicines.

What to send us

  • A short description of the problem and when it began
  • Recent reports, scans and discharge summaries (clear phone photos are fine)
  • Current medicines and known allergies

Transplants
Lazuren does not find or arrange organ donors. For foreign patients, Indian law generally requires a related living donor, and each case needs approval from the Authorisation Committee. Your embassy must certify the donor–recipient relationship. Buying or selling organs is a crime; we do not pay or deal with donors. The hospital and the Authorisation Committee alone decide.
Prices
Prices are indicative. The hospital gives a written estimate after its doctor reviews your reports, and confirms the final cost after examining you.
Prices by country
Prices by country are for the treatment only. Flights, visa and stay are on the page for each country we serve.
